I have SO MUCH to update with that I feel like I need an introduction...
We have been sewing, we have been planning, we have been catching up with friends, we have been generally flitting about.. there is so much new happening right now, that I can't help but feel that September has arrived with a razor's edge to shear off summer and begin clean.
Tomorrow Mat starts his new/old job. He will be running back and forth between there and the school he is leaving for 2 weeks to be sure that both are prepared for the new semester.
Tomorrow Gid begins preschool.
Orders are shipping out. I also have new things planned that will be sewn then sold.
I missed the piggie. I nearly cried when I realized, but it seems there will be other editions, so I'm saved. I need her. The trend in cavity-inducing precious animal dollies is hurting me.
The rest will be in posts stacked on top of this one, but we'll throw in a bit of Buns for good measure...

Maisy has eeeeevil eyes. Also, she is having a torrid affair with Blackavar. He's loved her from day one, but recently, it seems she's fallen for his manly charms. They lie on the bed together all day long and as each day passes, they get closer and closer together. Today, they were both completely stretched out, pressed belly to belly, head to foot in a very odd fluffy misshappen bunny kitty yin yang.

This is them not doing that, but you can see how ridiculous Blackavar's fluffies are. Also, not how big he's gotten, but how little Maisy is.
And Sea Monkeys! I remember there was some interest. For the record, I don't have many left, but the ones that have survived are big and spunky. They live in an algae filled fish bowl on a sunny window sill -- I actually have to change their water because I think we're now at algae critical mass, but if you notice, they're green! Because they eat it. (Sea Monkey "food" is actually powdered spirulina) I took pictures and a video! (The blue to the right in the vid is a ruler, the water hits the 3 inch mark.)
Brine shrimp, in all their glory. (Sound track provided by Gideon playing the Monster Clubhouse computer Game. Or its the Sea Monkeys talking, you choose.)
Lastly, I was tagged twice!
1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
2. Tag seven people to do the same.
3. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do it.
1. I hiccup once every time I drink soda.
2. I am obsessed with light -- I need clean bright light from multiple sources to function properly.
3. I hate things that pop, like fireworks and balloons and refrigerated biscuits. (I do like popcorn)
4. My septum is pierced though I haven't worn jewelery in it for quite some time. I sometimes adjust my retainer and have to explain that I'm not picking my nose. I think I'm going to put a ring back in soon.
5. I wear skirts 98% of the time. I hate pantyhose.
6. I think musicians are magical.
7. I understand spoken Spanish, but I am very very self conscious when speaking it. So much so, I try to never do it. Consequently, my Spanish is very bad. Making me self conscious.
You see the problem.
I tag 7 people who's names start with M! I dunno who you are, but you do!

I totally want to link your video, but I don't think people would be as excited as I am and think I am a L00zer. ::cries::

Date: 2007-09-04 11:28 am (UTC)They are guaranteed you know. Ha ha ha. I honestly think I don't have much time left with these, I might have eggs at the bottom of the bowl, but I believe they must be dried and then hatched... they at least can be...
Thanks for sharing the excitement!

Date: 2007-09-04 04:33 am (UTC)I love her little outfit in this release; I hope the next releases have cute outfits.
Imagine a black-airbrush-painted with potbelly markings piggie! Eeee!
I second the nomination of you for Queen Sea Monkey. :D
Ooo, I share some of your weird things! Namely, I MUST have lots of light, and I wear skirts all the time. (Except when I'm wearing my goffy jammies.) And I understand Spanish but feel weird trying to speak it. My name starts with M, but I always forget to do memes!

Date: 2007-09-04 03:47 pm (UTC)But I think the piggie transcends all that. I think she says "Look, I am a pig-doll. Look at my tiny hoofers. I am pig doll. It's MAGICAL."

Date: 2007-09-04 04:02 pm (UTC)Yes, piggie is probably the cartooniest of all with her wee body, but that makes her more perfect.

Date: 2007-09-04 08:56 pm (UTC)Sea monkeys! I've never, ever seen them before. I've seen various jugs of swampy water with no life in them, but oooo, lookit!!
I hate the refrigerated biscuit explosion too, and balloons make me anxious. I will not blow them up because if one pops while I'm inflating it, I'm dead certain it'll blow my face off.
And I saw today's post with Gid all ready for school. He's so beautiful, and the light in his eyes - the eagerness to adventure - is absolutely inspiring. I had to comment here instead of there because the off-to-school post makes me cry, hee. I'm proud of you! *squeeze*

Date: 2007-09-05 01:32 am (UTC)Do loving friends squeeze and screech balloons around you as well? I hate them.
Thank you. It is inspiring to see such pure excitement and beginning. Once in a while we need to remember what its like to think we can do anything.
*squeezes back*

Date: 2007-09-06 12:16 am (UTC)Holy cow! Sea Monkeys. They always made me cry, because I could never get any to make it past the tiny dot stage. I'm impressed with your success.
