Babette

This is Babette, my Mademoiselle Rosebud. I know many (most?) of you aren't familiar with Blythe but this is how she looks stock. This was how she looked after I customized her the first time in (wow!) 2006. I got a new Pure Neemo body for Christmas and when I was casting about for someone to put it on she happened to be the only one who matched. She was also sorely neglected because her ringlets were pretty but not fun to play with. So... new Babette!

She has the new body which I adore. (It is a bit smaller in scale then the older body and it is jointed). I dyed her hair (again) and changed her eyechips and lashes (I painted the pupils on the chips w/ them). I also attempted carving for the first time, so I gave her nostrils and made her eyes bigger and reshaped her philtrum and lips. Then I painted her.

I'm happy with her! Carving scares me still, but I think I need better needle files. I have to take pictures of her other chips, but I'm working on remembering that I do not need to take ALL the pictures of my own dolls in one go. Also, wee Kuma! I LOVE him. If the full sized ones weren't a billion dollars, I'd have one.

resin_angels mentioned a doll/toy a week challenge.  I think I like the sound of that!  I loved my October photo challenge, but I know I can't keep up the pace of daily pictures worth looking at, so weekly sounds good.

The week has really whizzed by for me! But I think that's because my days have been spent worrying about the various household appliances going on the fritz. Oh, and Toy Fair.

Aww, neat! That's a great compliment, I obsess about that sort of thing.

Ugh, appliance woes are the worst. Toy Fair! Are you going? I need to catch up on your posts! I love your/Daniel's coverage. I get so giddy over new toys.

I'm planning on going to Toy Fair this year... I have some competition for getting into the Hasbro event, but even if I don't get in, at least I can spend Valentine's Day weekend with my husband. :)
