kittytoes: (dance)

Know what I haven't properly gushed about? We caught Cirque du Soleil's Quidam last weekend here with friends and it was amazing! I've been lucky enough to see them a few times before and it is always exhilarating and very inspiring. This time Gid went with us, and though it began on a bad note (a very very loud one, actually, while the tent was dark, which made him jump out of his tiny skin)and he napped through the second half on Mat's lap, he remembers it fondly and as we ooohed and wowed and clapped together, I got a bit misty. We'd actually once gone while I was pregnant with him and he certainly seemed to enjoy it then, so it was really special to have him there. And Brian! And Andrew! So much fun.

We also just got our Philly Fringe flyer and I hope to catch a few shows this year. After a very cursory browse, we're looking at Amnesia Curiosa, Hell, The Rocky Horror PUPPET Show, and Spherus. (I like puppets and jugglers, I can't help it.) The Mum is about to announce it's new season and there is a an ad for a new show in the flyer, but I can't remember the name right now.

Speaking of puppets (I am the queen of the segue!), tomorrow the new season of Sesame Street begins and there will be a new character introduced, Abby Cadabby. This is a pretty interesting article about her development. Gid and I will have to watch and see what we think, but I'm all for new girly Muppets in theory. :)

Now I must go drink another glass or three of orange juice. And sleep? Maybe!
